Mac Click to expand.If you mean serious 'plan out an auto route using a road database' software, I've never seen such. If you just mean view topo maps on screen, draw lines and mark points and labels on these maps, save the results, and also transfer the results or otherwise interact with a GPS unit, then there's MacGPS Pro as already mentioned, and the Natl Geographic TOPO! Software and (expensive!) maps. I've never actually done any GPS interaction, but I like the more polished (but also more limited) TOPO!

I'm not intending to spend more money for a software as for the trip. Google Earth offers routing, but depends on an internet connection, which I don't have on the road. Apple mac spinning color wheel. I'm gonna stick to a more simple version, as capturing images out of google earth/maps and use simple gps-to-topo tools. And do the routing by myself. Thanks anyway PS: Route66 now only supports handhelds like palm and mobile phones. The last version for Mac is 2004 and only supports USA and Canada, not Europe as I would need.
