Troubleshoot Office 2011 For Mac Issues

Posted on

Microsoft released a pair of updates today for its Office for Mac suites – both Office for Mac 2008, and Office for Mac 2011. The updates address “critical security issues” within the suites, and also improve security overall. 1) Hold down Shift key when launching Entourage and/or Outlook for Mac. This disables schedules. If this works, check your Outbox and remove the outgoing messages.

Hi, I have an excel file which was created under Windows. If I open it on Mac, Excel crashes. I have tested using another Mac and the same issue occured ( Mac version: Yosemite. Office version: 2016) Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated. Hi, I noticed that the issue only occurred when you open a specific Excel file. Please confirm if there is any issue when you open a new workbook in Excel application.

If you can open a new workbook in Excel, then click File > Open to open this file to have a try. Additionally, please save as this specific Excel file to another file format (.xls) on Windows. Then open it on Mac and confirm if the issue persists. Regards, Winnie Liang TechNet Community Support Please mark the reply as an answer if you find it is helpful. Nox app player download. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact. Hi, Is the problematic Office 2016 application upgraded from Office 2011 instead of a fresh Office 2016 installation on Mac? If your issue is related to a specific file, please save it to a new workbook as.xls to have a try. If the issue persists, please share the Excel files to us via GBSD TN Office Information Collection. We would open your problematic file in our test environment. Please involve the thread URL in the email message for easy follow-up:) Regards, Winnie Liang TechNet Community Support Please mark the reply as an answer if you find it is helpful. If you have feedback for TechNet Support, contact. Hi, We have received your Excel file. I was also unable to open your Excel file on my Excel for Mac application. But other Excel files created on Excel for Windows can be opened fine on Mac. So strange that the issue only occurred on your Excel file.

It is difficult to determine which feature caused the file opening issue on Mac. We would do further analysis on your Excel file. If there is any updates, I would follow up here:) Regards, Winnie Liang TechNet Community Support Please mark the reply as an answer if you find it is helpful. Hi Winnie I am having the same identical problem with a handful of my excel files. Some open fine, some crash. All worked fine on this computer before, then one day they crashed when I opened them.

I have tried all of the work arounds listed in this thread (I can open the files on a PC without a problem) and have had the same results as @porskipors. I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 and Excel for Mac version 15.23.2.

This was a clean instal of Office on a new computer, and has worked fine (including these files) for about 6 months before this problem occurred last week. Just wanted to let you know that this problem was not unique to the file you received from @porskipors. I will follow this thread for any updates. Hi, Sorry for my delay.

I was busy on working on other threads and missed this one. Apologize for my mistake. I did many many test for your problematic Excel file between Windows and Mac. Copy sheets to new workbooks respectively.

Check the sheets one by one. Change the saved file format etc. Finally, I found a workaround and was able to open this file on Mac now. I changed your Amount column formats to Currency. And it worked!!! I noticed that there are many different format set for your number cell. In your scenario, Accounting and Custom format are used.
