Microsoft Office 2011 For Mac Lync
Prerequisites Before you install the Lync 2011 14.0.1 update, make sure that you have Lync 2011 14.0.0 installed on your computer. Also make sure that the computer is running Mac OS X v10.5.8 or a later version of the Mac OS X operating system.
According to Microsoft's setup instructions for using Macs with Office 365, an alternative to using Lync for Mac 2011 is to use the Lync Web App. The Lync Web App is browser based and more limited. Hi Gary (and anyone that can offer tips), finally reengaged this problem. Other employees' Lync (Office 365) accounts work on my computer.
1)After launching Outlook 2011, it initially connects to hosted Exchange and within 30 seconds it disconnects. Password must be re-entered using Outlook/Tools/Accounts not by Clicking YES on the pop up--- it will never reconnect. 2) Time Out's - Exchange is disconnected and I must re-enter password using Outlook/Tools/Accounts - same thing, not by Clicking YES on the pop up---it will never reconnect.
3) It appears to time out (after 59 minutes -- not 1 hour as previously stated) ACTIONS TAKEN a) Host has SP1 on 2010 Exchange b)Host has other Mac users, no problems c)Packet trace revealed Certificate from Host-- looked up ID # in Keychains Access app, it has choices: SSL, Secure Mail (S/MIME), EAP, IPsec, iChat Security, Kerberos Client, Kerberos Server, Code Signalling and X.509 Basic Policy. ALL of these are set for 'No Value Specified.'
